After working as a music supervisor for fifteen years, Jemma Burns founded Pulse Points; an award winning music company designed to service all music related needs for film and television production.
Having now music supervised over 130 productions, she regularly works with internationally renowned companies such as Ari Aster’s Squarepeg (Beau is Afraid), See-Saw Films (Apple Cider Vinegar, Lion, Top of the Lake: China Girl) and Plan B Entertainment (Bong Joon Ho’s Okja, multiple David Michod films). She has also been responsible for key Netflix productions’ soundtracks, winning Best Soundtrack for Heartbreak High at the 2025 AACTA Awards.
What really excites the team at Pulse Points is creative input and collaboration; the development of a ‘sound’ for a production, the selection of composers, and investigating the world of music specific to the story. With that palette, we then suggest songs that will help convey the narrative in the most compelling way. Of course this also entails negotiating fees, securing rights, managing budgets and the licensing process.
Where relevant, we also love commissioning original songs and score composition from our musical family. Our diverse collective extends around the globe, and includes both established composers and exciting new voices. These relationships enable us to facilitate and oversee composition and production, as well as re-recording covers and songs required for on-screen performances.
